MIAMI , FLA. July 7, 2011 – Physicians Dialysis, Florida’s largest independent dialysis provider, recently received a contract to provide dialysis services to South Carolina inmates with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The contract, awarded by the South Carolina Department of Corrections, requires Physicians Dialysis to administer treatments for the on-site clinic at the Broad River Correctional Institution in Columbia, S.C.
“Delivering dialysis in a correctional environment has its own complex set of challenges, but we have more than 15 years of experience working in prison settings,” said the company’s president Allan I. Jacob, M.D. “Our team uses that experience daily to administer life-sustaining treatments to almost 40 patients at Broad River.”
